Raymond Lam

Raymond Lam was born into a Chinese performing arts family, and is highly influenced by his dad’s career success.  After university education, Raymond joined Chinarts Dance Association and Chi-Ping Dance Group in Toronto, and was one of the Board Members of both organizations.  He is the stage manager and lighting designer for many Cantonese Opera and Chinese Dance performances since 1997, and was also the Cantonese Opera program host of Fairchild Radio in Toronto.

Raymond has great passion in Chinese arts and culture, and would like to promote and share it with everyone in foreign countries.  He participated in dance performances, festivals and competitions in Toronto, Calgary, Mexico, Macau, and Hong Kong.  Raymond Lam established Chinese Collective Arts Association with his fellow dancers and has been the Founding President since 2009.  Hoping through our association as a platform, Chinese cultural arts will be more recognized and aware by general in public, and the colourful heritage will continue into future generations.

Winsie Chan

Winsie has been a member of CCAA since 2018.  She has experience in Chinese dancing, having learned it at a young age in Hong Kong.  During university she expanded that love of dancing into hip hop and jazz.  She also performed as a backup dancer for well-known Hong Kong singers during their concerts in Hong Kong.

Loretta Leung

Loretta Leung has been a member, Marketing & Communications Director and now Treasurer of the Chinese Collective Arts Association (CCAA).  She started dancing with Chi-Ping Dance Group in 1992.  Though her education and career has taken her to different cities, her passion for dance and Chinese culture did not change but she instead sought more opportunities to further her dance and cultural experiences and education; this includes joining the Waterloo Chinese Dance Club, taking ballet classes at the University of Waterloo, and taking Chinese dance classes with Heng Da Dance Academy in Seattle.

As a member and director of CCAA, Loretta has been actively involved in many aspects of organizing various events and assisting with administrative functions.

Yue Jiang

Yue began dancing with the CCAA in 2015 and has since involved herself in many events and competitions throughout the   She has taken part in competitions within Canada, Tao Li World Dance Competitions in US, and the International Folk Dance Festival in North Macedonia and Spain.  This year, she has been granted the position of Membership Director after all the years of dedication towards the CCAA.  Yue hopes to inspire creativity and promote the Chinese culture through the art of dance.

Elven Koo

Elven Koo started dancing at the young age of four under the guidance and teaching of Ms. Chi Ping Lau.  She has been involved with promoting Chinese dance for many years with the Chi-Ping Dance Group, traveling and performing across Canada, including cities such as Halifax and Ottawa, and overseas including cities such as Beijing, Macau, and Mexico.  Her passion is to bring the beauty and diversity of Chinese classical and ethnic dance to the public.  To continue with her passion in cultural arts, she founded CCAA with other founding members, initially as the Membership Director.  As CCAA has grown over the years, this demanded a need for a Director to focus CCAA’s programs, hence starting in 2013, a new Director position was added to the Board.  As Program Director, Elven is responsible for planning and overseeing CCAA events.

Ms. Doris Yang

Ms Doris Yang graduated from the Shenyang China Dance Art School in 1977 and served as a professional dancer and choreographer in the Shenyang Song & Dance Ensemble from 1977 to 1996.  She has created and danced hundreds of Chinese folk dances in China and abroad, with great success.  Since moving to Canada, she has taught Chinese dance for the Chi-Ping Dance Grouop since 1998, where her choreography has won numerous awards.  

Ms Yang was also the director and principle instructor at Golden Child Learning Centre and served as the Artistic Advisor and Instructor at CCAA since its inception.  During her time as Artistic Advisor at CCAA, CCAA’s dancers were invited to countless performances.  These include Yee Hong Dragon Ball, Toronto Raptor’s Chinese New Year Half-Time Show, OMNI TV Live Audience Chinese New Year Special, Queen’s Park Canada Day Celebrations and much more.  In 2019 and 2024, Ms. Yang led a delegation of CCAA dancers to North Macedonia and Spain to represent Canada at the International Folk Dance Festival.

In 2022, Ms. Yang became the Artistic Director of CCAA, where she continues to teach various levels of classes, as well as lead the organization to continue cultivate dancers and educate Chinese arts and culture to the community.
